Rogue by Lyn Miller-Lachmann

Rogue by Lyn Miller-LachmannWow, did I enjoy this book! It’s about a girl with Asperger’s syndrome, but don’t let that fact fool you into thinking it’s an “issue” book. It’s a good story about friendship, about fitting in, about juggling family and school scenarios – just like so many other great middle grade books. Yes, we do learn more about Asperger’s while reading about Kiara, but the writing is so natural! I really “pulled” for Kiara as she learned about and forged ahead with her unique abilities.

Visit Lyn Miller-Lachmann’s website for more about her and her books. I also read and liked Gringolandia. Oh, and be sure to read about her unique launch party for Rogue – it involves Legos!

  1. Thank you for the wonderful review! If anyone reading it has questions about Asperger’s/autism or anything else related to ROGUE, please let me know and I’ll try to answer. Thank you for mentioning the Lego creations too! Kids (and grownups) on the spectrum often find Lego, or comics (like X-Men devotee Kiara), or other concrete objects an effective way of understanding the world and expressing oneself.
